Parks Trophy

This year’s End Of Season tournament will be held at Preston Park, starting promptly at 10.30 am, and will follow the same format as in previous years. Each team will consist of six players – three men and three ladies – and will all be doubles play. There will be two groups based on the relative strengths of the teams. All balls will be provided for the day.

It is a great day of tennis, usually involving around 60 players from various clubs throughout the League. Play usually goes on until around 4.00 pm, and will be followed by the presentation of the Parks League Trophies for the 2018 Season.

This will be the first time it has been held at Preston where we will have the full use of 6 courts for the full day. There are two cafés in the park and toilet facilities can be found at both. All courts are easily viewed from the sides so bring your picnic and a chair and whilst not playing sit back and enjoy the tennis! See map and directions here.

Parking can be found inside the park. From the North end of the park access is from Preston Drove by the corner of Preston Park Avenue and opposite Surrenden Road. From the southern end the park is accessed from the bottom of Stanford Avenue at the southern end of Preston Park Avenue – parking is a little more restricted at this end. Parking charges do apply inside the park, but only from 2.00 pm on weekends, and is only 50p per hour. It is best to pay for you parking on arrival in the morning – the machine will only charge from the time the restriction comes in to force, i.e. 2.00 pm. The machines are pay-by-card or phone only and do not take cash.

Let’s look forward to another successful day of really enjoyable tennis! If you would like any further information contact Jon at info@bhplta.co.uk.
